John's Bunkhouse is a modern comfortable hostel which opened in 2018.

Built in the Hebridean 'blackhouse' style, it combines the charm of a traditional building with the comfort of a purpose-built, low energy bunkhouse. Situated by a beautiful tidal beach it is close to the ferry to Harris, the local shop/bistro and the causeway to North Uist. It's a great jumping off spot for exploring the Uists and Harris. Walkers and cyclists following the Hebridean Way will find it an ideal place to break their journey. Facilities include underfloor heating, a drying room, bike shed, peat burning stove and internet access.

Groups, families and solo travellers are all welcome.
